Biology Research Mentorship Program

[ Our Mission ]

Our objective is to bridge the knowledge gap between middle school proficiency in research and competitive high school expectations, and to make this research opportunity accessible to everyone in our society, completely free of cost, regardless of their background. We strive to simulate a free and accessible research and mentorship-based environment for biology-oriented middle schoolers by pairing them with high schoolers who already have research experience. This program teaches students critical problem-solving skills, teamwork, and communication, and offers them a foundation to excel in their high school biology classes and future research opportunities.
[ Our Inspiration ]

Our team encountered their first biology research project in high school. In just the span of a few months, we learned how to conduct research together, perform experiments, and present findings to an audience, all in a guided professional environment. This hands-on approach taught us more than any biology lesson could have. Inspired by this, we set out to create the same opportunities for younger kids in our generation, so that they could learn real-world applications and become better scientists and researchers in the future.
[ Our Initiative ]

In light of recent circumstances, we have decided that GENErationZ will be virtual for the time being. Nevertheless, we seek to provide a complete experience for every one of our students. By the end of the program, students will have completed their very own research project and scientific research paper on a topic they are passionate about. Additionally, a representative speaker will make an appearance towards the end of the program to discuss future job/research opportunities and answer any remaining questions students have about a research career.
